With a fully integrated STEAM curriculum during the entire school day, students are immersed in a unique educational experience. Dear Lake View Community,

I am honored and excited to be appointed the next principal of Lake View Elementary School.  As we begin our journey together, I am eager to build upon the great things that Lake View is known for as well as collaboratively setting the foundation for the Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts, and Mathematics (STEAM) school-wide focus.  It is with confidence I share my educational background, family values, and educational philosophy as it supports each child’s learning experience, programs, and activities to prepare them to be a 21st Century Learner and College and Career ready.

My educational experience begins with a Bachelor’s degree in Communications from California Polytechnic State University.  I have also earned two Master’s degrees; one in Cross-cultural Education and the other in School Counseling.  During my 15 years working in an elementary setting, I have been a teacher, a school counselor, an assistant principal, and most recently the principal of Star View Elementary School within the Ocean View School District.  I bring enthusiasm to the work that I do and believe that my vast background brings an array of knowledge to every aspect of a successful school.

Outside of devoting my time to our school community, I am a wife and mother.  I have two children, a seven year old stepson, Bryan, and a nine month old baby boy, Evan.  Family is very important to me and through the lens of being a mother I have a renewed spirit to create educational settings that will properly prepare our children for the ever-changing future.

I firmly believe in a home-school partnership and working together to support the whole child.   Communication and over-communicating will be a thread in my relationship with you, the community of Lake View.  Working closely with all parents, grandparents, friends, and neighbors will help us all strive to ensure each child learns and grows.

It is with great pride that I become the newest leader of Lake View.  Please do not hesitate to introduce yourself and share with me what you love most about Lake View.  I look forward to getting to know the students, teachers, staff, parents and the community and watching the Lake View community flourish.
