Thank you for taking the time to learn more about Lake View and the innovative educational program. Lake View officially became a STEAM (Science-Technology-Engineering-Arts-Math) school during the 2016-2017 school year. With a fully integrated STEAM curriculum during the entire school day, students are immersed in a unique educational experience. We believe that our children must be adequately prepared to meet the opportunities and demands of the 21st century workforce. Preparing the children now for collaboration, innovation and experimentation is the key to nurturing our children to be ready for an ever-changing world.

Ms. Jill Van Der Linden will be joining Lake View as the Full time Principal for the 2021-2022 school year.

Ms. Van Der Linden comes to us with many years of experience as an administrator and in the area of STEAM. She has been with the Ocean View School District for 13 years serving in many different roles. Ms. Van Der Linden earned her Master’s Degree in Curriculum and Instruction, specializing in technology and Administrative Services Credential. Most recently, Ms. Van Der Linden served as Assistant Principal at Marine View Middle School. Lake View Elementary School was her first teaching assignment and she served on the planning committee when Lake View reopened as a STEAM school. Ms. Van Der Linden looks forward to serving as Interim Principal for the students and families of this community. Ms. Van Der Linden is committed to creating opportunities for student growth in all areas: academically, emotionally, and socially and is dedicated to promoting a positive learning environment where all students thrive.
